Event Details

This year, the Valley Center high school musical theater progeam who most recently brought you “Grease” and “The Addams Family” brings you one of America’s most beloved and treasured musicals. “Fiddler on the Roof” will open at the Maxine Theater the weekends of January 10th and 17th. Directed by theater veteran, Marc Wasserman, who is quoted as saying “this year’s show is bound to be the best we’ve ever put on at VCHS”, the show brings you a stellar cast of 25 of our most talented students with some you will recognize from past musicals and some new faces as well.
“Fiddler on the Roof”, with iit’s timeless and unforgettable message of hope, faith and the human spirit, unforgettable songs like “If I Were A Rich Man”, “Tradition”, “Sunrise, Sunset”, and “Miracle of Miracles”, takes place in an unlikely setting for a musical. It follows the life of a poor Jewish milkman named Tevya in turn of the century Russia during the time of the Russian Pogroms. It highlights the struggle as he and his family deal with the difficulties of changing times, pressures from the outside world and the ever growing threat of the Jewish people being forced out of their villages. It’s delicate balance of side splitting humor and intense drama will have you laughing and crying often at the same time. It’s timeless and hauntingly mesmerising melodies will have you singing along and wanting for more. Please come support your local talent and school by coming to see “Fiddler on the Roof”.
